Before starting the modules on dam failure, take a look at this site:

The site is hosted by the Association of State Dam Safety Officers in the United States. While the case studies are almost exclusively examples of dam failures in the U.S.A., they are very instructive on the concepts, consequences, and lessons learned.
While this is not a graded assignment, we ask that you review the site and 2 or 3 Case Studies and 1 or 2 Lessons Learned. You are required to post at least one impression or outstanding finding that you came across in your review. You may also reply to other's postings.
