Climate Toolkit


Welcome to the Training Package Strengthening the Delivery of Global and Regional Climate Services

With support from the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA), this training package was developed to provide training resources to assist closing the gaps in Member’s ability to deliver climate services.

The Training Package contains self-study modules on the use of Climpact to calculate climate indices, and access to recorded webinars. Two workshops were delivered in English in 2021 and 2022, and more are being planned. A Climate Toolkit is under development to support the calculation, analysis and interpretation of sector-specific climate indices.

The Training Package will continue to be developed in 2022, adding to the growing contribution of WMO towards protecting life and property in face of natural disasters related to water, weather and climate through training and education.



 

This course provides an introduction to Climpact, a software package used to calculate climate indices from daily temperature and rainfall data. This is a self-paced learning resource which can take approximatelly 3 hours to study.

The Climate Toolkit will be released in 2022 to support the calculation, analysis and interpretation of sector-specific climate indices. 
The Toolkit will be most relevant for the countries that participated in the Climpact Workshop delivered in January 2022.
