1030 - 1100 UTC (30') 1130 - 1200 CET Bridging Knowledge and Practice: How We Train Operational Forecasters at The Norwegian Meteorological Institute (Pernille Borander - Norwegian Met Institute)
Pernille Borander is a meteorologist at the Norwegian Meteorological Institute, where she works across several forecasting domains and contributes to the training of new and experienced forecasters. In her session, she will present how the institute structures and delivers meteorologist training—from onboarding to continuous professional development.
She will provide an overview of the organisation, the annual training cycle, and highlight a selection of training approaches. Pernille will also discuss how the institute works to preserve institutional knowledge.
Joining her digitally from Bergen is her colleague Magni Svanevik, who will contribute to the discussion afterwards.
