Dear SYMET-XIII Participants,
The WMO ETR Office is very happy to invite you to the SYMET Website, and to take part in the pre-event discussions. As you know from the event announcement, the symposium will be organized around three main themes. To initiative discussion in these areas, three Thematic Papers have been prepared for your reading and response prior to coming to Barbados. We would appreciate all participants taking time to read the short papers, paying particularly close attention to the Recommendations sections. Because there will be time only for a brief summary of each paper during SYMET, it is important that you make time to read these in advance, and hopefully share your reactions and suggestions with all of us via the Website, which is hosted on Moodle. This will help to maximize our interactions and impacts.
During SYMET-XIII, we will be working toward an expanded and revised set of recommendations to be compiled after the event. Your direct involvement in developing these recommendations is being requested. In addition to this pre-symposium activity, we will be having several breakout group discussions during the week, and rapporteurs will be helping to compile the outcomes of these discussions. Each of you has the chance to help shape the final recommendations in this way.

The site itself requires no login, but a login is required to submit a post to the any of the Discussion Forums.
Existing users of the ETRP Moodle site can use their current login. For the new users, we have created new accounts. We will be sending login details separately and directly to them. However, if you have any difficulty at any time, please contact tra@wmo.int.
REMINDER: The site is open to public so that even those not attending can view the inputs and outputs of the event! Only when you make contribution will it be required to login with a user account. An additional benefit of having a user account is that you will easily be able to keep in contact with other participants after the event!
