We are delighted to announce that the new WMO hosted Incident Management System for Regional WIGOS Centres (WMO IMS-RWC) will be launched on 1st of February 2024.

Please also note the following relevant information:

· during the period from 26-31 January 2024, the current IMS hosted by ECMWF (ECMWF IMS-RWC) will be frozen. This means that the last day for creating and updating tickets in the current system is Thursday 25 January 2024 until 23:59 UTC. After this time, the ECMWF IMS-RWC will be available in read-only mode until the launch of the WMO IMS-RWC, after which the ECMWF IMS-RWC will no longer be accessible;

· the functionalities of the new WMO IMS-RWC, as well as the workflow for managing tickets, remains the same as in the ECMWF IMS-RWC;

· the registered users in ECMWF IMS-RWC will also be migrated to the WMO IMS-RWC, while the login process will be slightly different as described in the user manual;

· new requirements for functionalities and for improved workflow are being collected, which will be used to develop an updated version of the WMO IMS-RWC that is foreseen to be launched at a later stage.

For any feedback or questions related to the use of the new WMO IMS-RWC, you are kindly requested to use this email address: WDQMS-IMS@wmo.int

We look forward to continuing to work with all RWCs and relevant National Focal Points and we are confident that the new system will be a major step forward in better serving the WIGOS community in managing observations incidents.
