Online Workshop
on Global Tools for Flood and Drought Prediction
8–10 December 2025

🌍 Welcome to this Online Workshop on Global Tools for Flood and Drought Prediction!
This online workshop is organized by the RTC Bet Dagan Israel and Israel Meteorological Service (IMS), in collaboration with the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF), Joint Research Centre (JRC), and Israel’s Agency for International Development Cooperation at Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MASHAV). It introduces you to key global forecasting tools and methods for flood and drought prediction.
🎯Objectives
To introduce the key global tools and techniques for forecasting floods and droughts, with a focus on developing practical familiarity with their use.
📈 Outcomes
- Participants will gain practical knowledge of online free tools for floods and droughts forecasts.
- Participants will understand the limitations and challenges faced by NMHS's in providing floods and droughts forecasts.
- Participants will understand the impact of climate change on floods and droughts frequency of occurrence and severity.
- Armed with knowledge about floods and droughts forecasting tools and their limitations, participants will make informed decisions related to issue early warnings for all.
📚 Through expert presentations and curated learning materials, you will build practical understanding of how these tools support early warning and risk management around the world. Take your time to explore, reflect, and apply the knowledge to strengthen resilience in your own context.
