    For some regions  the  transitioning from manual to automatic observations is a training priority. Relevant discussions took place and  will continue after the conference on how best to  teach technical skills and knowledge to standardize observations on land and at sea.  A blended training approach   is suitable for  seafarers to acquire IMO expected outcomes  in marine meteorology:  inclass/ online and out of class/ onboard.
