Monthly OSCAR/Surface webinar

Visible to anyone in the world
Edited by Luisa Ickes, Friday, 4 January 2019, 2:41 PM

I have been thinking about different topics how to kick-start this OSCAR/Surface blog and promised posts about the OSCAR/Surface API and how to close a station, but I will deal with these in the next posts, as an important announcement now offers itself. The launch of our monthly OSCAR/Surface webinar!

The OSCAR/Surface team will be organizing a webinar on the first Friday of each month at 11h UTC. Each of the webinars will have a specific topic, and there will also be space for general questions about OSCAR/Surface. The language will be mainly English initially, but we will be able to take questions in French and Spanish, and can also organize webinars in other languages, if there is a demand. Everyone can participate in the webinar, we are just asking you to kindly register using the doodle so that we know how many of you to expect. We are using the WMO webex platform to host the webinar and the password to join the webinar will be 'surface'.

The first webinar will take place on Friday 7th September and will have the OSCAR/Surface API as topic and I am confident that I will also have blogged about the API by then. For an overview of the other webinar dates, please consult the course calendar

If you have any comments or suggestions about the topics of future webinars, please leave a comment, which you can do by logging on using your email to the WMO moodle site. Shoot us an email if you have yet to receive your credentials.

UPDATE: The webinars take now place on the first Monday of each month at 11h UTC. The first one in 2019 will be on the 14th of January.
