Dear colleagues

I apologize for my English and here is an action carried out as part of WMO's global campus

Establishment of a network of Meteorological Training Institutions at the level of the African continent

In anticipation of the creation of a department of atmospheric and meteorological sciences within the National Polytechnic School of Yaoundé-Cameroon-; a program was designed, according to which assistance was provided by the IHFR to the Cameroonian delegation composed by the Deputy Director of Studies and her assistant in charge of the course in computer engineering.

- This assistance took place at the IHFR and aimed at studying the programs taught and gaining knowledge of the pedagogical aspects related to training in meteorology at the level of the IHFR. This assistance consisted of: Presenting the organization of the Sub directorate of Pedagogical Affairs of the IHFR.

- To visit the educational infrastructures (Computing Center, Regional Forecast Center of the National Office of Meteorology, Meteorological Park, Library ....).

- To review the programs taught at the IHFR and the presentation of WMO Standard 1083, in order to convert them to standard LMD programs in line with ENSP programs. This cooperation has been broadened to a high level where a draft technical and scientific cooperation agreement at Ministerial level between Algeria and Cameroon has been signed, of which our part is a cooperation based on

- The exchange of scientific and technical information that allows the updating of knowledge
and know-how in the field of meteorology and climatology.
- The realization of missions or visits of Algerian experts to Cameroon and of Cameroonian experts to Algeria.
