Imports e.g. RADAR / JCOMMOPS / GAWSIS

Dear RA VI,

The OSCAR user manual provides this information " Editing Radars or JCOMM stations-  OSCAR/Surface also contains information that is regularly imported from external portals. This is the case for stations maintained by JCOMMOPS as well as the Weather Radar Database operated by the Turkish Meteorological Service. Therefore changes to these stations cannot be applied in OSCAR/Surface, but have to be made in the respective portals".

Is it possible to state how often imports are made for RADAR / JCOMMOPS and GAWSIS? (or should we be maintaining the GAWSIS information direct in OSCAR rather than GAWSIS)?

Many thanks for your time,

Adam

Hi Adam & all,

My understanding is : maintain the info at the source (an upstream reference system). If it will eventually come from GAWSIS, then this is where you need to maintain it.

In Offenbach I understood these imports from JCOMMOPS / WRD or GAWSIS have so far only been punctual as opposed to regular. They should become regular when the machine interface is ready.

EC70 gives some calendar indication for this machine interface : operational before end of the year.
