Welcome to the first day of CALMet XVI, hosted by the WMO Regional Training Centre in Florence, Italy, and connected globally through our hybrid format!
We are delighted to have you with us this year as we explore experiences, collaboration and innovative practices, that shaping meteorological education and professional development. Whether you are joining from Florence or online, we hope you will find the next few days enriching, interactive, and full of meaningful learning opportunities.
Starting today, you will engage in a combination of live sessions across three time zones as well as asynchronous activities designed to support flexible participation from our global community. We strongly encourage you to review the contributed materials in advance. Your active engagement—through questions, reflections, and discussions—is at the heart of this conference.

Today’s programme features a range of live sessions across the Eastern, Florence, and Western time zones, including:

Opening Session featuring welcome remarks from the CALMet Co-Chairs and representatives of the WMO Education and Training Office.
