    Simulators are excellent tools  for training and assessing operational forecasters. They provide a transition from theoretical to operational forecasting.  Participants  tried different types of  SIMS: analysing  the  weather conditions on a 1hour  flight route at the office, or a 24 hours forecast using a SIM in Moodle. They were also given the opportunity to build their own  branching simulation in a live workshop using Branchtrack.
