This conference is designed with a 'flipped-learning'
approach. This means we are making all conference material available in advance.
During the Conference week we will host some live sessions, as well as offer opportunities for asynchronous interactions during the whole week.
So how is this going to work?
Before the Conference starts
The Pre-conference area will be available to you from 7th of November. You are invited to explore the material in advance to help you to be prepared for discussions and activities taking place during the conference week.
The CALMet Conference Programme is based on seven thematic areas
and overarching pedagogical themes, grouped as follows:
- Fostering collaboration with communities
- Inspiration for the training
sessions you provide
- Artificial Intelligent (AI) in
Training and Professional Development
- Educational tools related
experiences, best practices, and lessons learned
- Supporting Training for
Meteorological Professionals
- Supporting Satellite Meteorology
Training
- Supporting the Training for Other
Professionals and Public
During the Conference
The Conference will take place from Monday 13 to Friday 17th November. Because participants will be attending the conference from different parts of the world, the synchronous live interactions will take place according to
a schedule which contemplates the time zones. There will also be plenty of opportunities for asynchronous interactions during the whole week.
Participating in discussions:
Use this link to subscribe or unsubscribe to receive emails from the Forums you choose. By default, you are subscribed to each of them. The CALMet XIV Forums will open on the first day of the Conference. There is a Forum
for each of the 7 themes. The authors of the Conference abstracts will start a thread in their respective theme Forums to discuss their contributions with you. Please keep the forum discussions focused by responding directly to
the posts on the presentation/topic you are referring to (just Reply--do not start a new discussion topic if you are not the contributor).
Attending the live sessions: For the live sessions we
make use of many different conferencing sessions gratefully provided by Members
of the CALMet Community. We will do our sessions in Webex, Zoom and Microsoft
Teams environment. The links to these sessions you will find in the conference
environment on the Information for Synchronous Sessions page for each
Thematic Group or simply go to
Recording of live sessions: The recordings of the live sessions will be added to the Thematic Group Pages as soon as they are available.
We are very much looking forward to a highly interactive experience and
meeting you online!
