Importance of online training during lock downs

Because of the COVID-19 dilemma, meteorology education institutions all over the world are scrambling to discover alternatives to face-to-face instruction. As a result, meteorological trainers and students have been using online teaching and learning on an unprecedented scale. Because huge or localized lockdowns may be required in the future to respond to additional waves of the epidemic until we are safe for classroom training, it is critical for meteorological training centres to discover which policies would maximize the efficiency of online learning.

 Key findings and recommendations:

1.      Most education systems have been forced to adopt alternatives to face-to-face teaching and learning as a result of the present COVID-19 dilemma. Many educational systems relocated activities online in order to continue teaching despite the lockdowns.

2.   Not all online training's are beneficial. During lockdowns, however, there is no choice but to conduct

training's online. I've been teaching BIP-MT online and have discovered that it's not as effective when the weather observations sections are covered. It's fine to teach theory online, but when it comes to simulations and practicals, which must be completed after each topic, it's ineffective.
