In Australia we have relocated an Upper Air (UA) station from a former combined Upper Air and Surface GBON station. We wish to continue the GBON UA classification at the new location.
In summary:
Formerly: Station AA GBON UA and GBON Surface
Cease UA at Station AA on date DD/MM/YYY
Now: Station AA GBON Surface and at a new location Station BB GBON UA
The trouble comes with the metadata. How can I record that Station AA had a GBON UA until DD/MM/YYYY?
Under Station Characteristics/Network Affiliations, GBON needs to be retained as continues to be an ongoing Surface GBON station.
If I go to Observations/Measurements Programs/Network affiliations, I can only delete GBON from the UA observations. I have ended the UA series, and unchecked "for international exchange" but it still appears as a black dot in WDQMS GBON UA.
Note that it is not a black dot in GOS, only in GBON.
