today the monthly aggregation feature was released as WDQMS v1.4.6. This release adds monthly aggregations to the NWP module for surface and upper-air. Monthly aggregations for surface are available since 2019, whereas for upper-air data will be available for May 2024 on-wards (will become available in early June 2024, once all data for May 2024 has been aggregated).
The monthly aggregation function aligns the NWP module with the GBON module, where monthly aggregations have been available since v1.4.0. While aligning the NWP and GBON modules, there is a difference between the upper-air aggregations in that that the completeness criteria for NWP require profiles of pressure, temperature, humidity and wind in all layers, whereas for GBON humidity in the stratosphere is excluded. In this they reflect the respective differences in how daily aggregations of GBON and NWP treat upper-air compliance.
The release also includes minor improvements and bug-fixes to enhance precision, clarity and handling of errors.
