Organizational Chart and Focal Points
Knowledge of your service delivery framework begins with knowing who's doing what and who's communicating with whom. What are all the primary administrative, managerial, forecast, information technology, and supporting staff positions? What are the roles and responsibilities of each position? How do they connect with one another? How does each position support marine service delivery?
Requirements:
- Create or update a current organizational chart of your marine forecast services. For smaller organizations, or as an alternative to a traditional, heirarchal organization chart, consider presenting your organization based on functional responsibilities.
- Include all support staff, forecast staff, managers, and your WMO Permanent Representative (PR).
- Include a brief job description and describe all job responsibilities.
- Identify focal points for each functional group (lead forecaster, lead IT support, management positions, etc.).
If you are enrolled in this course with other staff members from your organization, work together to submit just one chart.
Consider using PowerPoint to develop your chart as it includes useful drawing and charting tools.
Submit your chart and any related documents for instructor review:
Use the 'Add submission' button below. When prompted, drag and drop your file(s) into the upload area. Be patient while the file uploads before clicking the 'Save changes' button. You will know the upload is complete once the file name changes from text to an icon. Once it is in icon form, click the 'Save changes' button.
This is the first of the documents that will support your Marine Service Delivery Context Analysis, a collection of documents and assessments that are a part of your course capstone project.
