Overview of energy-climate linkages and the role of W&CS.
This course provides foundational knowledge and practical case studies on how weather, water, and climate services (W&CS) support the energy sector’s transition to net zero emissions. Learners will:
Understand the role of W&CS in global energy and climate policy (e.g., Paris Agreement, SDGs)
Learn key concepts in weather/climate modeling and energy forecasting
Explore co-production frameworks and collaboration models between service providers and energy users
Review real-world case studies, business models, and WMO's role in the energy transition
