Use grade book
What is the Grader Report and where to find it?
The Grader Report collects
items that have been graded from the various parts of Moodle that are
assessed, and allows you to view and change them as well as sort them
out into categories and calculate totals in various ways.
When you add an assessed item in a Moodle course, the gradebook automatically creates space for the grades it will produce and also adds the grades as they are generated, either by the system or by you.
All the grades for each student in a course can be found in the course gradebook, or 'Grader report', accessed from the Grades link either in the navigation drawer or navigation block, depending on your theme.Students can see their own grades only, while a teacher can see all students grade and take action on them.
Concerning the gradebook or grade report, a teacher can:
— see all grades
— grade or manually alter automatic grades
— choose each activity's grading scale
— choose weight between activities
— define grading scales
— import and export grades
— choose if grades are immediately visible to students or only at a specific date and time
Depending on your platform settings (check with your admin), you can have different permissions in the grade report.
Setting up and using the Gradebook
Most of the time, you will not have to set up the course gradebook, it will fit your needs as it automatically collects grades from graded and assessed activities.
Check this video by Moodle Learn for more details on the gradebook.
You will learn where to find the Grader report, how to check a group or an individual student, how to manually grade from within the gradebook, or how to alter grades given from an activity. Note that when you grade from the gradebook, marks can not be changed within the activity.
You will also see how to create your own grading scale and use it in your course.
